The Master of Science (M.S.) program within the Department of Chemical, Biological, and Materials Engineering at the University of South Florida (USF) is a 30-credit hour graduate degree designed for full-time completion in 1.5 to 2 years. The curriculum is designed to provide a core foundation in advanced chemical engineering while allowing flexibility for specialization through electives.

Total Credits: 30 semester hours. Core Foundation: 12-credit core foundation covering thermodynamics, transport phenomena, reacting systems, math, and process analysis/modeling. Track Options: Thesis Option includes 6 credit hours of supervised research (ECH 6971) and requires a final oral thesis defense. Non-Thesis Option requires 6 additional credit hours of elective courses and passing the FE exam. At least 18 credit hours must be at the 6000 level.
