How we help with your visa
- Check the student visa requirements: we confirm what your country, course and situation need today, from admission documents and funds to health insurance, medicals and biometrics. Rules change every year, so we never work from last year's checklist or from another student's file and figures.
- Build one consistent file: we check every document against the others, so names, dates, course details and funding figures match. A mismatch can do more harm than a missing page, so we find and fix it before you apply, not after a refusal.
- Prepare you for interview: we run mock interviews based on your own application, so you can explain your course, university, funding and plans simply and honestly, in your own words. Not every country interviews students, but those that do expect clear, confident and consistent answers.
- Support if you've been refused: we carefully read the refusal letter with you, find the real reason and help you decide whether to reapply, appeal where allowed, or change your plan. Then we fix the actual problem, so your next application is stronger.
Work visa assistance (for eligible candidates)
Our main focus is student visas, but we also actively support select work visa pathways for eligible candidates:
- Employer sponsorship and job search: we help you identify sponsor-ready employers and prepare employer-sponsored application materials.
- Compliance and documentation: end-to-end paperwork support, so your submission is complete and error-free.
- Legal navigation: help with visa extensions, requests for more evidence and immigration updates, through appropriately authorised professionals where the rules require it.
- Post-visa support: from arrival to renewals, so your transition is smooth and you stay compliant.
We also explain post-study work routes and their conditions, such as the UK Graduate visa (18 months for applications made on or after 1 January 2027), Canada's post-graduation work permit and OPT in the USA.
Student visa refusal and reapplication
A refusal is hard, but it isn't the end of your plans. Here's how we help:
- 1Read the decision carefully. The refusal letter states the reason: funds, study plans, missing or inconsistent documents, or doubts about your intentions. In the USA, many student refusals come under section 214(b), which means the officer wasn't convinced of your plans.
- 2Fix the actual cause. Strengthen the evidence the officer questioned, rather than changing random things.
- 3Decide your next step: reapply with a stronger file, seek a review or appeal where your country allows it, defer to a later intake or consider another destination.
Never hide a past refusal on a future application. Declaring it honestly matters, and officers can usually see it anyway.
Student visa requirements by country
Each country has its own student visa and rules. Here's what each needs, and what we handle for you. Our visa assistance covers these 11 destinations; our other services cover 59+ countries. Read the latest student visa rules for recent changes.
USA: F-1 student visa
You need a Form I-20 from your university, the SEVIS fee, the DS-160 form and an interview at a US consulate. Applicants also go through an online-presence review. We prepare your documents, financial proof and interview answers. See our USA student visa steps. USA student visa requirements
UK: Student visa
You need a CAS from your university, proof of funds for fees and living costs, and the Immigration Health Surcharge. The Graduate visa is 18 months for applications made on or after 1 January 2027. We check your funds and documents. See the UK student visa process. UK student visa requirements
Canada: study permit
You need a Letter of Acceptance, proof of funds, biometrics and usually a provincial attestation letter, though master's and PhD students at public institutions are exempt. Australia: student visa subclass 500
You need a Confirmation of Enrolment, health cover (OSHC), proof of funds and evidence that you're a genuine student. The visa fee is AUD 2,500 for applications from 1 July 2026. We prepare your Genuine Student answers, financial documents and health cover details. Australia student visa requirements
Germany: national student visa
You need an admission letter, proof of funds (usually a blocked account of €11,904 a year), health insurance and, as an Indian applicant, an APS certificate. Appointments can book up months ahead, so we plan early and check every document. Germany student visa requirements
Ireland: study visa
You need an offer from an eligible full-time course, proof that your fees are paid, evidence of funds for living costs and private medical insurance. After you arrive, you register for your residence permission. We prepare your financial evidence and check your documents. Ireland student visa requirements
France: long-stay student visa
You apply through Campus France's "Études en France" process, which includes an interview, then for a long-stay student visa. You'll need your admission, proof of funds and accommodation details. We help you through both steps and prepare you for the Campus France interview. France student visa requirements
New Zealand: student visa
You need an Offer of Place from an approved provider, proof of funds for fees and living costs, health insurance and, for some students, medical checks. Processing can take several weeks, so apply early. We check your funds and documents and help you explain your study plans clearly. New Zealand student visa requirements
Netherlands: residence permit for study
Your Dutch university usually applies to the immigration service on your behalf, and you show proof of funds and pay the fee to the university. We help you prepare your funds evidence, meet the university's deadlines and plan your arrival registration. Netherlands student visa requirements
Singapore: Student's Pass
Your university registers you on the immigration authority's online system, then you complete the Student's Pass application with your documents and fee. We help you track each step and check your documents, so nothing stalls. Singapore student visa requirements
Japan: student visa
Your university applies for a Certificate of Eligibility in Japan on your behalf, then you apply for your visa in India with it. You'll need proof of funds and your admission documents. We prepare the documents your university asks for. Japan student visa requirements
Proof of funds: four questions
- Is it enough? Your funds must meet the current requirement on the day you apply, for fees and living costs. The amount differs by country and sometimes by city, so we check the latest figure for your destination and course length, not an old blog post.
- Can you use it? The money must be genuinely available for your studies. Some countries ask for funds held for a set period, or in a particular kind of account, so we check your statements meet those rules before you apply.
- Can you explain where it came from? Large recent deposits, such as an asset sale, a fixed deposit, a family transfer or a loan, need evidence. We help you document each source clearly, with the papers that prove it, before anyone asks.
- Does everything match? Your bank statements, loan letters, scholarship letters, sponsor documents and forms should all tell one story. If your form says one figure and your statement shows another, officers notice. We check every number against every document before you apply.
A loan letter from our education loan assistance team or an award through scholarship assistance often counts towards your funds.
Student visa interview questions
These are the student visa interview questions officers ask most often. Answer simply, honestly and confidently in your own words.
- 1Why did you choose this course? Link it to your past studies or work, with one specific example.
- 2Why this university? Give programme reasons, such as modules or faculty, not just its ranking.
- 3Why not study this in India? Explain what this course offers that fits your goals, without criticising Indian universities.
- 4Why this country? Mention the course, teaching style or industry links that matter for your career.
- 5Who is paying for your studies? Name your sponsor clearly.
- 6What does your sponsor do, and what do they earn? Know the exact figures in your documents.
- 7Have you taken a loan? Say how much, from which lender and how it will be repaid.
- 8What are your test scores? Know your exact scores and test dates.
- 9What will you do after you graduate? Give an honest, specific plan that fits your visa type.
- 10Do you have family in this country? Answer truthfully and simply.
- 11Is there a gap in your studies? Explain what you did during it, with dates.
- 12Have you ever been refused a visa? Answer honestly and briefly, and explain what has changed since.
A simple, honest answer works better than a memorised one. Officers often ask follow-up questions, so understand your own application rather than learning lines. Brush up on your English with our test preparation resources.
How our student visa consultation works
- 1Readiness check: we carefully review your destination, admission status, funding and start date, and confirm the current rules that apply to your visa, so you start with an accurate list.
- 2Timeline: we plan the steps backwards from your course start date and intake, around appointment availability, biometrics, medicals and how long each document takes to arrive, with buffer for delays.
- 3Document file: we help you collect your admission, academic, financial and identity documents, and check that every name, date and figure matches across them before you apply.
- 4Interview practice: where your country interviews students, we run mock interviews based on your own application and give you clear feedback on what to change before the real interview.
- 5After you apply: we help you track your application online, respond quickly to requests for more information and plan your next steps once the decision arrives, whatever it is.
Visa approved? Get ready to fly.
- Accommodation: save your address and move-in details offline. Need help? Use our student accommodation guidance.
- Money: carry an approved card or student forex card, and enough funds for your first few weeks, until your local bank account is open. Read our education remittance and forex guide.
- Health: pack your health insurance documents, prescriptions and medical records, plus enough regular medicine for your first weeks.
- Travel: double-check your visa dates, the earliest date you can enter and your university's arrival instructions.
- Documents: keep originals in your hand luggage, with digital copies saved securely online.
Requirements for student visa: documents checklist
Most student visa applications need these documents:
- Passport: valid for your full course, with blank pages.
- Admission document: I-20, CAS, Letter of Acceptance, CoE or offer letter.
- Proof of funds: bank statements, loan or scholarship letters, sponsor documents.
- Academic records: mark sheets, degree certificates and test scores.
- Visa forms and fees: the online application and payment receipts.
- Health: insurance, and medical checks where required.
- Photographs and biometrics.
Each country has its own list, and some ask for extra documents such as police certificates or medical checks, so we give you one built for yours.

What are the most common student visa interview questions?
Officers usually ask why you chose your course, university and country, who is paying for your studies and how, what your sponsor earns, your test scores, and your plans after graduation. They may also ask about study gaps or past refusals. Answer simply and honestly, and know the figures in your documents.
What are the student visa requirements for each country?
Most countries ask for an admission document, proof of funds, a valid passport, health insurance and the visa fee. Each adds its own rules: the USA needs an I-20 and interview, the UK a CAS, Canada a Letter of Acceptance and often a provincial attestation letter, and Australia a CoE and Genuine Student evidence.
Do I need a student visa consultant?
You don't have to use one; you can apply yourself. A good student visa consultant helps you avoid common mistakes, such as mismatched documents or weak proof of funds, and prepares you for the interview. That matters most if your funding is complex, you've been refused before or you're short on time.
What does student visa consultation include, and what does it cost?
Our consultation covers a readiness check, your timeline, a document review, proof-of-funds checks, interview practice and support after you apply. Your first consultation is free, and our plans and prices are listed openly on our packages page. Government visa fees are paid separately, directly to the authority.
What is the student visa cost for the USA, UK, Canada and Australia?
As of October 2026: USA, US$185 plus the US$350 SEVIS fee; UK, £558 plus the Immigration Health Surcharge of £776 a year; Canada, CAD 150 plus CAD 85 for biometrics; Australia, AUD 2,500 for applications from 1 July 2026. Fees change, so check before you apply.
What if my student visa is refused?
Read the refusal letter to find the exact reason, then fix that problem before you reapply. Depending on the country, you may be able to request a review or appeal. Declare the refusal honestly on future applications. We help you understand the decision and plan your next step.
What is the student visa subclass 500?
Subclass 500 is Australia's student visa. You need a Confirmation of Enrolment, Overseas Student Health Cover, proof of funds and evidence that you're a genuine student. The fee is AUD 2,500 for applications made from 1 July 2026, and most students can work up to 48 hours a fortnight during term.
How long does a student visa take?
It depends on the country, the time of year and your case. Some decisions take a few weeks; others take longer in peak season or if more documents are needed. Check official processing times when you're ready, and apply as early as your country allows.
How much money do I need to show?
Whatever your country's rules require on the date you apply, covering tuition and living costs. The UK, Canada, Australia and Germany each publish their own figures, and these change. Don't rely on another student's numbers; we check the current figure for you.
Can I use an education loan as proof of funds?
Often, yes. Many countries accept a loan sanction or disbursement letter from a recognised lender, but the format and timing rules vary. Check the current rules for your country, and make sure the loan amount matches the figures in your other documents.
When should I start?
As soon as you accept your offer. Arranging funds, collecting documents and booking appointments all take time, and appointment slots can fill up before the main intakes. Starting early also gives you time to fix any problems before your course begins.
Is Vidysea a regulated immigration adviser?
Vidysea provides visa-process guidance and document support. Where a destination requires regulated immigration advice, that advice is given only by an appropriately authorised professional or partner for that country. Everything else, from your document file to interview practice, our own counsellors handle with you.
Can Vidysea guarantee my visa?
No. The government authority makes the final decision. We help you submit a complete, consistent and honest application, which gives you the best chance. But no one can honestly guarantee a visa, so be wary of any consultant who promises one.
