Prepare Visa Documents (E-Visa Format)
After obtaining your CAS, start preparing for your UK Student Visa (E-Visa) application. Complete the online application form available on the official UK government portal. Ensure all required documents are ready and accurate before submission.
Checklist of Required Documents:
- Valid passport with at least one blank page
- CAS letter with correct course and sponsor details
- Recent passport-size photo (meets UKVI standards)
- Financial proof:
- Bank statements covering 28 consecutive days, dated within 31 days of application
- As of January 2, 2025, the UK Student Visa financial requirements are:
London: £1,483 per month for up to 9 months
Outside London: £1,136 per month for up to 9 months
- Financial sponsorship letter (if education is sponsored)
- ATAS certificate (for certain postgraduate/research programs)
- Academic transcripts and certificates as per CAS
- TB test certificate (mandatory for Indian applicants)
- Visa fee: £524 (online payment)
- Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS): £776 per study year online

Submit Application & Book Visa Appointment
- Complete the online form and make all payments
- Book your VFS Global appointment for document submission and biometric enrolment
- Optionally choose priority or super-priority processing for faster decisions
Attend Visa Appointment & Biometrics
Bring the following to your VFS center:
- Original passport
- Appointment letter
- Application confirmation
- Supporting documents (originals and copies)
At the appointment:
- Submit all documents
- Provide biometrics (photo and fingerprints)
Wait for Visa Decision
UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) will process your application:
- Standard processing: 3 weeks
- Priority: 5 working days
- Super Priority: Next working day (select centers only)
Track your application via the VFS Global Portal.
Receive Your UK E-Visa
- Once approved, your E-Visa is linked digitally to your passport
- You will receive an email confirmation with instructions to access your visa through your UKVI online account
- Immigration officers at UK airports will verify your visa electronically
